We are trying to raise money and keep running interesting during these strange times.
My nephew Hari Ingman tragically died of Meningitis in October 2017 in Temple Street Children’s Hospital, Dublin, where his organs were then used for transplantation throughout the UK and Ireland. Hari would have been 5 years old on the 9th June 2020. In his memory and to help raise funds for Temple Street Hospital we are organising the “Hari’s Virtual 5”.
Entry costs £5, and all entrants will be entered into a draw for the chance to win a £25 Amazon Voucher. The TOTAL £5 entry fee will ALL go to the charity with administration costs all being covered privately. There are no race prizes other than the self-satisfaction of running a good 5 mile time and the knowledge that you are helping to keep Hari’s memory alive and helping charity.
To get involved you have to:
Step 1 - Register for the virtual race.
Step 2 - Run or walk 5 miles at your own pace and in your own location taking careful note of social distancing advice for your country any time between the 1st and 9th of June 2020 inclusive. The start and finish should be within a quarter of a mile if possible in order to have a “fair” course although we will be relying on runners/walkers integrity on this one.
Step 3 - Upload your proof (full instructions on how to do this will be in your confirmation email). Your run will end up in our results table which will include age group categories.
Step 4 – All entrants will be entered into a draw for a £25 Amazon Voucher, the draw will take place after the closing date.
Final date for submission of proof is midnight on the 9th June 2020.
